2022.01.28 21:43 minimom2810 1 mile benchmark

I was super nervous yesterday about my 1 mile benchmark. I recently had Covid, which put a bit of a crimp in my stamina, have put on about 8ish pounds, took a year off from the gym (but still worked out at a different gym, just not like OTF, especially the treads, which in turn caused a lot of foot issues that I have been overcoming). I was in a 3G class. and was literally the last one on the tread in my group at the 11:30 mark. The entire group on the treads gathered around my tread, including the coach, and started cheering me on with " YOU GOT THIS" and clapping and whooping and hollering. I cannot tell you how supported I felt. And I finished my benchmark at 11:50 - 14 seconds better than the last one......

2022.01.28 21:43 dotheBenderBaby Week 5: Chapters 9, 10, & 11

Synopsis: Following Dantes arrest, Villefort leaves Marseille for Paris in a hurry. He meets the King, Louis XVIII, and tells him of the conspiracy he uncovered in Marseille. News then arrives that Napoleon is no longer on Elba but has landed on French soil! Villefort comes out of this visit much esteemed by the King.
Discussion:

  1. Villefort struggles internally with what he has done to Dantes. He knows he has imprisoned an innocent man to serve his own ambitions, and he feels guilt over it. Danglars, on the other hand, has also set up Dantes to serve his ambitions but feels no guilt. In fact, he is quite happy. Is one worse than the other? What makes them similar or different in their actions?
  2. The King is uninterested in the warnings of Blacas and barely pays him any attention. However, the king listens to Villefort right away, with all the attention he denied Blacas. Why is this?
  3. How do you think Napoleon's return to France will impact our characters? Do you think it have any impact on Dantes, Danglars, M. Morrel, Villefort, Caderousse?
Last line: "The servant went out with obvious signs of astonishment."
Next Discussion (February 5th): Chapters 12, 13, 14.

2022.01.28 21:43 milesh67 Theory about how Papa IV will fall

The title of the song Kaisarion is a reference to the Pharaoh Caesarian who ruled under his mother’s (cleopatra’s) shadow for a long time, and was eventually assassinated by Caesar Augustus/Octavian who is known as one of the most effective leaders in human history. There are many similarities between Caesarian and Copia, especially the thing about ruling under his mothers shadow. I think Papa IV could be assassinated and a new much better and more powerful Papa will rule. Tell me what you think, or tell me if everyone already knew this haha

2022.01.28 21:43 procrastinatingrn21 How to ride the bus

Okay, I know this sounds dumb but I'm really nervous to ride the bus. I grew up in a more rural area so I've never ridden one before. However, I want to take the bus down to Santa Monica either this or next weekend. So I have some questions:

  1. Can I pay with cash or card? Or do I need a specific bus card?
  2. Do the buses stay on one side of the road? Like, if I want to go West, do I just have to stay on the right side of the road to get on the bus i need?
Any other general tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry this is so stupid, but I get socially anxious for no reason and would like to be prepared lol

Lol, my heart skipped a beat when I saw AD showroom loaded with a few dozen Rolexes..... Subs, skydwellers, DJs, explorers, GMTs of all kinds.... even a gold Daytona !! I went crazy calculating how many I can get.....

Of course, they were exhibition only. Not a single one for sale. At least I was able to try a few of them and figure out which looked the best on my wrists. Geez the daytona is so small.

2022.01.28 21:43 GhoulsbayReal Low's Hey What Digital vs Vinyl

Just got Hey What on vinyl today and immediately played. I've listened to this album a ton on Apple Music so I immediately noticed the ending to White Horses is not on the vinyl. Super disappointed, but has anyone else noticed this/noticed other changes? I also really love when artists have variations between the same album on different medias. If the vinyl version is an exclusive listen, then I respect it. However, if they just cut the ending to save space, that stinks :( Pressing is extremely clear, though, so can't complain on that!

2022.01.28 21:43 HildaMarin 01/16-01/22: also bad

On Wednesday Jan 26 and they released the Sun-Sat numbers for Jan 16-Jan 22. We'll leave out the weekend numbers when there is less testing and show the Jan 17-Jan 21 weekday numbers. I've bolded the ones with rates above 300 new cases per day per 100,000 population, where 25 cases per 100k is "condition red" and means stay at home orders should be issued. The ones that are not bolded are not safe either. Also we are only catching a fraction of current cases as we don't count at-home self testing or the huge numbers of people that are simply not bothering with testing because their whole family has covid and they have the same symptoms.

2022.01.28 21:43 rose-coloured-wall Repressed memories coming up

Hi all, Very new here but I’ve done all my prep sessions leading up to actually processing stuff and we start next week. My last session (two days ago) was focused on building my “trauma map”. Since then I’ve been feeling on edge and very tired, and last night I had some key memories that I know are true but that I’ve seriously repressed come up in my dreams and then continually into the morning. They’re flashing up like PTSD symptoms and I genuinely feel like I cannot talk. I’ve never had that before, but have worked with people who are selectively mute. I actually cannot talk. At all. Is this normal? Will it go away? I’m really anxious as we haven’t even started processing. Thanks for your time.
